Kaplan Higher Education Acquires Ten CEI Campuses in Southern California
Acquisition Expands Kaplan Higher Education to 57 Locations

NEW YORK and ATLANTA, Aug. 7. -- Kaplan, Inc. today announced that its higher education division has acquired CEI, which provides career-oriented degrees in the fields of information technology and allied health. The acquisition broadens Kaplan Higher Education's presence in California, where it already owns schools in San Diego, Sacramento, Vista, North Hollywood, Stockton and Modesto.

CEI is comprised of two institutions -- CEI Institute and CEI College -- which have ten campuses. The CEI campuses serve over 1,800 students in Anaheim, Carson, Irwindale, Lake Forest, Los Angeles, Pomona, Riverside, San Diego, San Marcos and West Hills.

CEI Institute is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET), and CEI College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). Both institutions are licensed by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education. CEI is approved by the U.S. Department of Education to provide Title IV financial aid assistance. Financial assistance is available, to those who qualify, through Federal Pell Grants, Federal Direct Student Loan Program, Federal PLUS Loans, Federal Stafford Loans, Federal Family Education Loan Program, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant and Federal Work/Study, as well as various Veterans Benefits.
