Kaplan University provides online and campus-based associate's, bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degree programs (as well as certificates and diplomas) primarily to adult learners, focused on career advancement. Areas of study include healthcare, business, legal and paralegal services, information technology, and criminal justice. The University’s Concord Law School offers the juris doctorate degree online.
With its main campus in Davenport, IA, Kaplan University is regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (reaffirmed in 2016 through 2025-2026). It is also accredited by numerous program-specific accrediting agencies and approval grantors.
The majority of the University’s more than 30,000 students are enrolled in online programs. Kaplan University also operates 14 campuses in Iowa, Indiana, Nebraska, Maryland, Maine, Missouri and Wisconsin, and a Kaplan University Learning Center in Maryland.
Within Kaplan University is the School of Professional and Continuing Education (PACE), which offers a wide range of online and in-person programs to assist professionals in advancing their careers by obtaining professional licenses, designations and certifications in accounting, insurance, securities, real estate, technology and other business fields and for advanced designations, such as the CFA and CPA exams. These offerings, plus a wide array of professional development and certificate programs, are also offered to individuals and corporate clients under the Kaplan Financial Education, Kaplan Schweser, SmartPros, Loscalzo and Dearborn Real Estate Education brands in the U.S. PACE serves approximately 3,700 business-to-business clients, including 125 Fortune 500 companies and in 2016, over 460,000 students used PACE’s exam preparation offerings.
Kaplan is the world leader in test preparation and has served millions of students since its founding 80 years ago. With a comprehensive menu of online offerings, in-person classes, books and software, Kaplan Test Prep offers preparation for more than 100 standardized tests, including entrance exams for secondary school, college and graduate school, as well as professional licensing exams for attorneys, physicians and nurses. Kaplan also provides private tutoring and graduate admissions consulting services.
During 2016, Kaplan Test Prep enrolled over 350,000 students in its courses, including more than 160,000 enrolled in online programs.
This unit also include Metis, which offers short, intensive bootcamps, professional development courses and corporate training programs in the area of data science. Metis has locations in Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Seattle.
Kaplan’s international programs are designed to help students achieve specific educational goals and provide career qualifications that enable them to compete effectively in a global marketplace.
Based in London, Kaplan International English offers English-language training through 40 schools located in the U.K., U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland. Ranging in length from two to 52 weeks, programs include Vacation, General, and Intensive English as well as English for Business. In 2016, KI English served about 47,000 students from over 150 countries.
Also based in London, Kaplan International Pathways offers a range of academic preparation programs designed for international students who wish to study in English-speaking countries. KI Pathways partners with more than 40 universities globally, to offer both on-campus pathways programs (in the U.K., U.S. and Australia) and in-country programs in Nigeria, South Africa, Japan and China; these programs served about 13,000 students in 2016. As well, Kaplan Residences works with university partners in the U.K. to develop and manage campus residences and other facilities; locations include Glasgow, Nottingham, Bournemouth, and Liverpool. In addition to bringing students to campus, Kaplan helps university partners host their academic programs in other countries, delivering undergraduate and graduate degree programs to students living in Singapore, Hong Kong and surrounding countries as well as online through its Open Learning division.
KI Pathways also operates Mander Portman Woodward (MPW), a leading U.K. independent sixth-form college that prepares students for A-level exams and entry into U.K. universities; MPW operates three schools in London.
Kaplan Financial UK is a leading provider of professional training, test preparation services and degrees for accounting and financial services professionals, including those studying for ACCA, CIMA, and ICAEW qualifications. Kaplan Financial UK serves over 51,000 students and many top firms and has 22 training centers in the U.K.
Dublin Business School is the largest private business school in Ireland, offering undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Kaplan Professional is Australia’s largest provider of professional education for the financial services, tax and accounting, and real estate sectors, serving over 33,000 students and also working many business-to-business clients in those industries. This unit includes Red Marker, a pioneering machine learning and artificial intelligence firm in the regulatory technology sector.
Further, Kaplan Business School in Australia operates four campuses (in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane) and serves about 1,400 students from more than 60 countries, offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs in such areas as accounting, business, management, marketing, and hospitality and tourism.
In Singapore, Kaplan operates three units. Kaplan Higher Education Institute provides part-time courses to local students and Kaplan Higher Education Academy offers full-time courses to international and domestic students, with degrees awarded in partnership with universities based in Australia, the U.K., and Ireland; together these units about 18,000 students in 2016. Kaplan Professional in Singapore provides short-term professional training to about 19,000 managers, executives and businesspeople.
Kaplan also offers professional and higher education programs in Hong Kong, mainland China, and Malaysia.
